I'm getting ready for another awesome year.. How about you? I think the placement letters are going out today... If you are placed in my class, well, that's just great! Look at my previous blog and you will see the supply list. Parents, I am looking for some adults to help with fundraising for Camp Koinonia. Kids, I'm looking for enthusiastic sixth graders who are ready for another action-packed year! See you Wed..... If you would like to come by Tues. PM, that'd be great, too... ~ Ms. F.

Hi everybody~ It's getting to be that time of year again. I am looking forward to another inspiring year at Rio Del Mar (my 30th!) As you may or may not know, my husband Dave Moorman passed away 2 weeks ago from a heart attack. I am spending the last weeks of my vacation taking care of things and getting my classroom and curriculum ready for this year.
Please be assured that your children will be fine. I take pride in my career and my loss will stay out of the classroom. Going back to work will be uplifting and inspirational to me. On another note, students will need the following supplies:
* a transparent accordion pleated binder/organizer
* a decent set of felt pens( I recommend Pentels)
*colored pencils
*scissors with name attached
* pencil sharpener w/ reservoir
* 2 spiral notebooks
*pencils/pens
* a durable water bottle~ We have a water cooler but no sink. We cannot be sending kids outside all day long for drinks, but students are welcome to use the cooler. Kids need a durable bottle so we are not consuming excessive plastic
*everyone needs to bring in a box of kleenex and a roll of paper towels
* I team teach w/ Mr. Kyle. He will be sending home a note about students needing a memory key for laptop instruction.

This is the LAST BLOG for the year! Last night was great! The kids looked great; everyone was happy; hopefully a great time was had by all. We are leaving for the beach today around 8;15-8:30. Our lifeguard is due to arrive at 9 AM. Kids will be walking back by 2 PM to catch their rides home. Tomorrow school will be dismissed around 10;50 AM. Wow! Is it really June? I wouldn't know by the weather!
Believe it or not, there are no more assignments! The Power Point projects were great! The kids have grown so much in confidence this year....
Raging Waters is Mon. Don't be late! Wear sunscreen! Bring $ and other items if you like. But you have to take care of it and not ask people to watch your things. We'll be back around 4:30, depending on the traffic.... make sure someone is at school to pick up your child.
Tues. we will practice for the ceremony. The ceremony is at 5, but be early because of seating and parking...
Wed. is the beach party. Kids who want to walk home from the beach need a written note or an e-mail. Bring lunches as there is no lunch provided..... Wed. is a full day; not restructured....
Thurs. dismiss at 10;50, I believe.

Please remember to bring in the Sun. Sentinel Sec. D every Mon. It is nearly impossible for kids to do their stock folders without it. Everyone signed the letter stating the importance of bringing in the business section of the Sun. paper. There is also 100 pts. toward the math grade every Mon. just for bringing in the paper and a calculator. The next stock entries will be for Sun., April 15. We'll do them Mon., 4/16.

Today there was way too much talking~ At some point students need to quit with the talking so I can do my job. I put up my picture of "The Scream" as a message to the students~ Rreport cards are coming next week. Some students could be getting an "N" in classroom behavior. There are 32 students in here with 20 girls! Help!
